Artweaver documents from version 1.0 and later can not be opened in older versions?

The file format for Artweaver documents has been changed with version 1.0. This new format can't be opened or processed with older versions of Artweaver (0.5,0.4,...).

But to exchange files with older Artweaver versions there is the possibility to maximize the compatibility of the Artweaver document format (AWD). This option can be configured in the preferences dialog beneath the file handling settings:
